Growing community in a formerly vacant Austin lot

Harambee Community Garden can provide lessons about how it was able to last this long – 12 years – and where it’s headed from here. The garden in the 500 block of North Waller Avenue is surrounded by two churches, a fire station, a senior home, Austin Town Hall, the library and Frederick Douglass Academy High School.
