WIith 90% of the precincts reporting, Congressman Danny K. Davis easily won re-election. He garnered more than 60% of the vote, while challenger Kina Collins came in second with about 14% of the vote. Anthony Clark finished third, getting nearly 13%, and Kristine Schanbacher was fourth with almost 12%.
Voters in the 7th congressional District have just a few more days to decide among four Democratic primary: Incumbent Danny K. Davis, and challengers Anthony Clark, Kina Collins and Kristine Schanbacher. Early voting continues Sunday and Monday before the March 17 election.

Hear likely for the last time from the candidates running for the seat that represents Austin in the U.S. House of Representatives. All four candidates – Congressman Danny Davis, and challengers Anthony Clark, Kina Collins and Kristine Schanbacher – have been invited to the March 12 forum, which will be held at 7 p.m. at 4540 W. Washington Blvd. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
Chicago residents can vote at any one of 51 sites that are open from now through Monday, March 16 – the day before the Illinois primary. Voters will be casting ballots in a number of races, including president, U.S. House and Senate, Cook County state’s attorney and local judges.

Photographer Sasha Phyars-Burgess recently discussed her work “UNTITLED,” a photographic exploration of race, class and space in Austin, at the Oak Park Public Library. The project was supported by a short-term summer fellowship from the Black Metropolis Research Consortium.
The Chicago Police Department has expanded its narcotics arrest diversion program to the 15th District in Austin. It helps individuals apprehended for opioid-related offenses by allowing them to seek treatment when they’re arrested.
