Produce grown at PCC Austin Farm goes on sale June 6

Locally grown vegetables will be sold every Tuesday from 12 to 5 p.m. and the third Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. until October 25.
The first “Lunch & Learn” session will be held from 12 to 1:30 p.m. March 23 at the PCC Community Wellness Center, 5425 W. Lake St.
Come to this Saturday’s meeting and learn how to get involved in this season’s garden at the corner of Race and Waller.
From 2 to 7 p.m. stop by Columbus Park (Tuesdays), La Follette Park (Wednesdays) and Austin Town Hall (Thursdays).
The PCC Community Wellness Center’s Austin farm stand opened for a sixth season this month. Produce grown at the site will be sold every Tuesday and the third Saturday of the month through Oct. 25.
Youth Outreach Services will unveil the new space from 12 to 2 p.m. Saturday at 5910 W. Division St.
Four other West Side markets start later this month.
The National Volunteer Week event was part of the company’s ongoing involvement with students who participate in the Stay in School Initiative.
Residents are encouraged to join those already tending vegetables and flowers at Root Riot’s Harambee plots or the new Ed Bailey-Leola Spann Community Garden scheduled to open in just a few weeks.
