Cook County Commissioner Richard Boykin is hosting the free event Saturday, May 14 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. T Sankofa House, 4041 W. Roosevelt Road.
Applicants have until 3 p.m. Friday, March 14 to turn in materials that will get them on the April 7 and 8 ballot.
The Jan. 29 forum for high school students and parents starts at 6:30 p.m., 118 N. Central Ave.
The 6 p.m. Oct. 31 event sponsored by Roman Morrow and Divinely Orchestrated will offer a safe place for families to go for games, food, treats and more.
Like others, the school won’t have enough candidates on Wednesday’s ballot to fill the open positions.
While the school’s principal and LSC coordinator declined to speak with AustinTalks, the office manager and previous LSC coordinator said the issue, as well as increasing attendance, will require the attention of newly elected members.
The new members elected Wednesday will help plan the school’s longer day.
Winners of the April 18 election will help the school’s staff determine how to plan the longer day.
Monday’s 2:30 p.m. event will allow the public to learn about those running in the April 18 election.
The sessions covered how much it costs to care for a baby and the dangers of getting a sexually transmitted disease.
