7th District congressional candidates to discuss issues Tuesday night

A forum featuring Democrats Kina Collins, Danny Davis and Denarvis Mendenhall will be held at 6 p.m. May 24 at Bethel New Life, 1140 N. Lamon Ave.
All four candidates – incumbent Danny Davis and challengers Anthony Clark, Kina Collins and Kristine Schanbacher – have been invited to Thursday night’s forum, which is being sponsored by the South Austin Neighborhood Association. The candidates forum starts at 6 p.m. Feb. 20 and will be held at Friendship Baptist Church, at Jackson and Laramie.
Kina Collins, a gun violence prevention and healthcare advocate, is challenging longtime Congressman Danny Davis in the 2020 election.
Congressman Danny Davis’ annual event begins Aug. 18 with a parade step off at 10 a.m. at Bloomingdale and Central avenues, followed by a picnic at 1 p.m. at Columbus Park.
Repeal and replace of the Affordable Care Act was also criticized by local residents who have benefited from the coverage that is now in peril.
