For the first time since the Feb. 28th election, incumbent Ald. Chris Taliaferro fell below the required 50.1% needed to win another four-year term on the Chicago City Council. An April 4th runoff seems likely.

Chicago election officials will begin holding hearings on Dec. 12 to determine which West Side aldermanic candidates will remain on the ballot in the Feb. 28th election. Objections have been filed to two candidates challenging Ald. Chris Taliaferro. All three challengers to Ald. Jason Ervin also face hearings later this month.
