The money will support an initiative to reduce breast cancer among African-American women.
Move Me Soul is a collaboration between After School Matters, Pyramid Player’s Productions and The Lupe Fiasco Foundation that has performed several times over the last two years. Today’s event will be held at Austin Town Hall.
Circle Family HealthCare Network (Circle) will use the money to open clinics at John Marshall High School and Proviso West High School.
Several West Side schools are looking for teacher assistants, a security officer, a business manager and more.
MindBloom Preschool of Chicago has organized Wednesday night’s session, which will be held Downtown at The John Marshall Law School.
The event, sponsored by Circle Family HealthCare Network and Bethel New Life, will be held Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Jela McKinney and six other Chicago youth competed last month in Los Angeles as part of the Westside chapter’s delegation.
Last weekend’s event shines light on this important issue. This weekend, there will be more community events, including Ald. Emma Mitt’s back-to-school gospel fest and the William V. Banks and Lillian Gill Grand Lodge community parade and cookout.
A potluck will be held this Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Root-Riot Harambee community garden in Austin.
