Members of the community gathered Dec. 6 for the eighth annual event that took them down Madison Avenue and ended in front of the 15th District Chicago Police headquarters.
Residents of Austin’s Central Plaza Residential Care attended the Sept. 29 reception and prayer service for individuals with mental illness at St. Catherine of Siena-St. Lucy Church.

The Aug. 1 performance of “The Taming of the Shrew” at Austin Town Hall was the third of 11 scheduled performances by the free citywide tour, which brought residents and visitors to the West Side neighborhood.
The free event featured professionals, as well as student performers from the Chicago Park District day camp program.
The event, aimed at uniting the community, was put on by the Central Austin Neighborhood Association and the Third Unitarian Church.
