The West Side nonprofit hopes to raise $5.4 million to construct a horticenter that will include a cafe, commercial kitchen, classrooms and a sunroom.
The event, presented by Bethel New Life and Entrepreneurs Academy, will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 9th at 1140 N. Lamon. There will be food, music, performances, workshops and more.
The sports, education and wellness facility at 1841 N. Laramie will open in fall 2022. It will feature 150,000-square-feet of indoor space, new outdoor turf fields and Chicago’s only FIFA regulation turf arena for year-round indoor sport. The campus also will house after-school programming for more than 400 youth and offer over 100 free community hours per week. The Fire will offer more than 20 hours per week of free soccer programming for the community.

One of the main aims of the Westside Community Triage and Wellness Center, located at 4133 W. Madison is reducing the population of the Cook County Jail. Parents, grandparents and community residents are invited to a May 23 discussion about how to keep children safe this summer.
PCC Parkside Family Health Center is the 12th PCC health clinic and represents $1.7 million in investment, said Robert J. Urso, president and CEO of PCC Community Wellness Center. “We’re grateful for the privilege to serve this community and deepen our commitment to the West Side.”
