Taliaferro eases into 29th Ward committeeman post

The first-term alderman easily defeated state Rep. La Shawn Ford in last month’s primary.

More than 100 people attended Ald. Chris Taliaferro’s reception hours after he’s sworn into the Chicago City Council.

Light refreshments will be served from 6:30 to 8 p.m. May 6 at Columbus Park Refectory, 5701 W. Jackson.

Ald. Deborah Graham, who lost her 29th Ward seat in the April 7th runoff, is one of about a dozen people serving on the special committee.

Our partners at the Austin Weekly News interviewed Chris Taliaferro, who will represent the 29th Ward starting next month.

Deborah Graham lost her reelection bid, while Emma Mitts beat her challenger.

Chicagoans may cast their votes through April 4 – or on election day.

Former candidate Bob Galhotra will moderate the 60-minute event 7 p.m. March 18 at Redeemer Church, 6740 W. North Ave.

The forum, set for 6:30 p.m. March 11 at 5730 W. Division St., will be held one day after the deadline to register to vote in the April 7 runoff.
