Teachers and students from Austin High School took to the streets April 1 as part of the citywide Chicago Teachers Union’s day of protest.
Several West Side sites will be open April 1 when the Chicago Teachers Union has planned an all-day walkout.
Later this year, Austin Polytechnical Academy and Austin Entrepreneurship and Business Academy will close, while VOISE Academy will remain open.
Austin residents recently learned ways to prevent flooding in their homes.
The Chicago Board of Education is set to approve the plan to phase out Austin Polytechnical Academy and Austin Business and Entrepreneurship Academy but keep VOISE Academy.
More than 300 programs at 70 locations across the city will be offered beginning Feb. 22.
The community is invited to a Jan. 19th meeting to discuss bringing together Austin Polytechnical Academy, Austin Business & Entreprenuership and VOISE Academy.
