Young and old are encouraged to unite against violence and crime by joining forces tonight, June 22nd from 6 to 7 p.m. – and on Wednesdays throughout July.
Ald. Chris Taliaferro will host the next 29th Ward gathering – where residents can discuss any topic of concern – 6:30 p.m. July 6 at Columbus Park Refectory.
Congressman Danny K. Davis and Sankofa Safe Child Initiative are sponsoring the day-long event to Sheridan Correctional Center June 11, which includes free food and a resource fair at the end of the day.
West side residents will meet at various corners in Austin at 6 p.m. tonight and every other Wednesday in June and July to take a stand against violence.
The last day to cast your vote is Saturday, June 4th. This is the first year West Siders have been asked to weigh in on how Ald. Chris Taliaferro will spend $700,000 in menu money.
BUILD organized the evening of fun and games at Christ the King School, 5088 W. Jackson, from 6 to 10 p.m.
All 29th Ward residents are invited to Rutherford Sayre Park, 6871 W. Belden, at 6 p.m. May 18th to discuss neighborhood developments and learn about upcoming events.
St. Joseph Services is sponsoring the third annual gathering May 20 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at St. Angela School, 1332 N. Massasoit Ave. All are welcome.
Young people participating in Mercy Housing’s after-school and summer programs broke ground last weekend on a new garden that will provide fruits and vegetables to Kitchfix, a Chicago meal-delivery service that specializes in local and organic foods.
