Youth ages 13 to 24 are invited to participate in the Feb. 27 event that’s designed to ease tensions between the community and officers.
More than 300 programs at 70 locations across the city will be offered beginning Feb. 22.
The community is invited to a Jan. 19th meeting to discuss bringing together Austin Polytechnical Academy, Austin Business & Entreprenuership and VOISE Academy.
Austin state Rep. La Shawn Ford and dozens of others gathered last week to discuss the recently proposed legislation, which faces several hurdles.
There will also be a job resource fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 16 at Amundsen Park, 6200 W. Bloomingdale.
Athletes and all other students at Christ the King Jesuit College Preparatory participate in a unique corporate work-study program.
About 30 West Side Chicago and Oak Park residents discussed the issue after the event aired on CNN.
