Commemorate Juneteenth at the Garfield Park Golden Dome, 100 N. Central Park Ave., from 12 to 4 p.m. June 19th. The West Side Historical Preservation Society is holding Wednesday’s event in collaboration with the Garfield Park Advisory Council.
Divvy donated 70 bikes to seniors of Michele Clark Academic Prep Magnet High School for their second annual ride to eight nearby elementary schools.
Join several men, including state Rep. La Shawn Ford, at the free event, which will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. June 16 at Moore Park, 5085 W. Adams St.
The free show – presented by the 15th Police District and DJ Phantom Inc. – will be held June 15 at the Kehrein Center for the Arts, 5608 W. Washington Blvd. Doors open at 10 a.m.
Austin College and Career Academy High School senior Darien McGee discussed the change he hopes will come to Austin now that Mayor Lori Lightfoot has assumed her position.
More than 200 volunteers helped transform an empty lot on Saturday into a playground that was designed by the local kids who will get to use it.
All who are concerned about Austin’s future are invited to attend today’s meeting, which will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the West Austin Child Development Center, 4920 W. Madison.
The Chicago West Community Music Center’s orchestra free performance will held at 7 p.m. June 7 at the Columbus Park Refectory, 5701 W. Jackson Blvd. This is the group’s first Chicago concert after performing in China and France.
