Austin Neighborhood Choir to perform Wednesday

The choir will be joined by several in-school choirs as they present a free community concert at 7 p.m. May 15 at Michele Clark High School, 5101 W. Harrison St.
Tonight’s event will feature dozens of West Side performers, including the Good Neighbor Girls – a new Austin dance group – from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Davis Play Lot, 5437 W. Division St.
Community meetings and rehearsals have been set in the 29th and 37th Wards for the citywide Crowd Out performance at Millennium Park Oct. 1. The program is sponsored and coordinated by Illinois Humanities.
Children in 3rd grade or older are invited to participate in the Chicago Children’s Choir; attend a special event 4:15 p.m. Jan. 25 at Austin Town Hall.
The performance will be 4 p.m. Nov. 19th at Westinghouse High School. Auditions will be held afterwards for those interested in joining the group.
Admission is free to the Oct. 1 event, which begins at 4 p.m. and will be held at Greater Holy Temple Ministries at 5906-10 W. Chicago Ave.
All are welcome at the free performance 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 6 at 301 N. Mayfield.
The Nov. 20 event at St. Paul Lutheran Church and School featured the Mkhonto Fellowship Choir from South Africa and Chicago musician T.L. Williams.
