Representatives from The Loretto Hospital, the Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network, and the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois recently discussed the demand for organs, especially among African Americans, Hispanics and Asians.
Gift of Hope and Loretto Hospital are celebrating National Minority Donor Awareness Month with a series of activities at the hospital, including an hour-long virtual conversation about health disparities and organ donation on Aug. 19th.
The young people who created the winning organ donation posters while participating in By The Hand Club For Kids will present them Tuesday to Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White in downtown Chicago.
