Cook County Commissioner Richard Boykin has organized Saturday’s event at By the Hand. The public is also invited Thursday, July 7th to a community meeting sponsored by the Greater Austin Independent Political Organization.
State Rep. La Shawn Ford and The Voice newspaper are co-sponsoring the event, which includes free legal advice.
West side residents will meet at various corners in Austin at 6 p.m. tonight and every other Wednesday in June and July to take a stand against violence.
