Seniors and students interact at intergenerational fair

Eighth-graders from Kenilworth came to dance, play and share treats with Bethel New Life elders and Austin youth.

The brother-sister duo, part of a five-member team, placed second in a national contest.

They joined youth from other major U.S. cities in advocating for legislation to reduce violence and improve education.

Five volunteers are working with 10 students at DePriest School. The hope is to expand the program to other Chicago public schools.
