A Safe Haven, state Rep. La Shawn Ford and Veteran One Stop Shop is holding a Facebook and Instagram live fundraiser April 15 from 7 to 10 p.m.
Musician Larry Taylor will be performing at the event, which is a fundraiser for Austin youth to travel. Stop by 5940 W. Chicago Ave. from 12 to 6 p.m. Nov. 9th.
Stop by from 12 to 6 p.m. Aug. 22 at 5100 W. Harrison St. The cost is $7, and there also will be hot dogs and snow cones for sale. The event is helping the youth who participate in BUILD programs raise money for school supplies and uniforms.
Austin food pantries will receive a portion of money raised at the annual walkathon held earlier this week.
Third Unitarian Church will be among the rest stops for the annual charity event May 7th.
Mama Kemba will assume the persona of a former slave at Third Unitarian’s annual black history lunch to raise money for the decades-old scholarship fund.
Next week’s event, at Christ the King Jesuit College Prep, will feature a basketball game and dance hosted by Resurrection alumni who attended school on the same campus.
Officials also celebrate the Austin campus’ test scores, which are the best in the school’s history.
Former Sgt. Robert McGaha needs an elevator lift so he can get in and out of his home.
