Some participants in After School Matters will earn a stipend for the fall program, which starts Sept. 29.
The Chicago Park District presents Community Rhythms from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Austin Town Hall Cultural Center, 5610 W. Lake St.
Final Explosion Team of Performing Arts presents its annual “stop the violence” event at Douglass High School, 543 N. Waller Ave.
Hundreds of programs citywide – including several in Austin – begin Jan. 27, so teens should apply now.
Indian music will be featured tonight at Garfield Park Conservatory and Dec. 12 and 14 at Austin Town Hall.
The theatre collaborated with several other groups to put on a performance at Columbus Park. The citywide series ends Sept. 7 in Humboldt Park.
NAJWA Dance Corps is putting on the dance series, which runs through the end of the month.
Nearly 400 students participated in last week’s After School Matters’ end-of-the year performance.
The dance troupe’s founder is asking for someone to donate a large room for a few hours for two days leading up to a Feb. 23 performance.
