Organizers call artist for a day a success

Keep Chicago Beautiful Inc. gave the award to the Central Austin Neighborhood Association.
EveryBlock is sponsoring the event, which will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Some West Siders complain about how long it took police to alert the community.
The support will be used to fund Speak Up, Speak Out for Austin, a new program for middle and high school students to share their stories and report on issues important to the West Side.

The plans call for a 50- to 60-seat theater and technology center at Madison and Mayfield avenues.
CPS Chief Jean-Claude Brizard and other top officials will receive the report next month.
