A Bethel New Life training program is providing funding and education to 30 entrepreneurs on Chicago’s West Side.
The Nov. 10 event is planned for 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the center, 1140 N. Lamon Ave.
The Bethel New LIfe program will provide owners training and up to $6,000 in start-up costs to help build up the business community on the West Side. The first informational workshop starts at 6:30 p.m. tonight at 1140 N. Lamon Ave.
The students will be spending nearly a year in the Bethel New Life program to help them realize and pursue their academic dreams, ending with a trip to Princeton University spring 2013.
Track E sixth-graders have until 5 p.m., March 26 to submit the application, two letters of recommendation and their most recent report card for a West Side program that will help kids prepare for college.
The forum gave West Side voters an opportunity to learn about contenders whose names will appear on the March 20 ballot.
Eighth-graders from Kenilworth came to dance, play and share treats with Bethel New Life elders and Austin youth.
More than 300 participants completed the program, run by Bethel New Life, over the last five years.
The event, sponsored by Circle Family HealthCare Network and Bethel New Life, will be held Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
And it’s an even bigger challenge when times are tough. Westside Health Authority works with former prisoners, as does Bethel New Life.
