The students and recent graduates received cash awards from the Chicago Engineers’ Foundation of the Union League of Chicago.
The recipients were honored July 13 at the annual Excellence in Education Concert and Awards Ceremony.
Students from the Academy of Scholastic Achievement were recognized for their work, as were others from across the city.
First-grade teacher Monique Blakes was one of 10 educators throughout the state to receive the award recognizing outstanding performance.
Austin high school seniors who plan to go to college and major in business or a business-related field are encouraged to apply before the March 16 deadline.
Applications are being accepted through March 7 for both youth and adult leaders who have made outstanding contributions to their communities.
The Leaders Network of Chicago recognized individuals for service and commitment to their community.
The Austin non-profit, public alternative high school received $2,000 from Community Bank of Oak Park River Forest.
Keep Chicago Beautiful Inc. gave the award to the Central Austin Neighborhood Association.
