The city of Chicago is offering free help for qualified individuals at several sites, including Austin Town Hall, 5610 W. Lake St., on Saturdays through April 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This year, the deadline to file taxes is Monday, April 18.
The Westside Chicago chapter of the NAACP and the Cook County Bar Association are sponsoring the event Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
Business majors should apply by March 31 for the North Avenue Business Association award, while the deadline for students wanting to be a One Million Degrees Scholar is April 10.
The Austin Community Action Team will host the event from 1 to 4 p.m. at Bethel New Life, 1140 N. Lamon.
The Austin Senior Legal Assistance Clinic takes place the second Thursday of each month.
