West Side faith leaders call for firing of CPD officer over Proud Boys statements

The event will be held 7 p.m. Dec. 16 at Better Life Faith Church International, 5401 W. Lake St.
Donations will be accepted until Dec. 16th at Fathers Who Care, 4540 W. Washington Blvd. The office is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The two-day small business expo will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 16 and 17. There’s still room for vendors interested in selling their products.
Doors open the Kehrein Center for the Arts, 5628 W. Washington Blvd., at 6 p.m. Dec. 12, and dinner will be served at 6:15 p.m. The show will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The City Lights Orchestra will perform at the 6 p.m. concert, which will be held at the Kehrein Denter for the Arts, 5628 W. Washington Blvd.
Chicago election officials will begin holding hearings on Dec. 12 to determine which West Side aldermanic candidates will remain on the ballot in the Feb. 28th election. Objections have been filed to two candidates challenging Ald. Chris Taliaferro. All three challengers to Ald. Jason Ervin also face hearings later this month.
Panelists at a town hall held last month stressed the importance of having honest conversations about the disparities that West Side residents experience in the healthcare system.
The auction, operated by the state treasurer’s office, runs through Dec. 9.
The grants awarded to West Side nonprofits and businesses in the third and final round of 2022 funding ranged from $62,535 to $4 million. City officials selected from more than 600 applications citywide.
