West Side teens put the spotlight on the worldwide issue earlier this month as they marched near Austin Town Hall and Columbus Park.
Spencer Elementary Technology Academy is the first school in our West Side community to have samples come back above the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s actionable levels. CPS is still testing other campuses in the neighborhood.
Three of the babies were delivered by Austin mothers at the Birth Center at PCC. A special women’s night out event will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 24th at the Berwyn facility.
The Greater Chicago Food Depository’s lunch bus begins Monday and runs through Sept. 2 at several locations throughout the city, including the Austin branch library, 5615 W. Race St.
The annual event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 25th at 5700 W. Midway Park. Hotdogs and other refreshments will be sold.
Young and old are encouraged to unite against violence and crime by joining forces tonight, June 22nd from 6 to 7 p.m. – and on Wednesdays throughout July.
Interviews will be held June 22nd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 29th Ward Ald. Chris Taliaferro’s office, 6272 W. North Ave.
Ald. Chris Taliaferro will host the next 29th Ward gathering – where residents can discuss any topic of concern – 6:30 p.m. July 6 at Columbus Park Refectory.
