All Austin residents are invited to the community summit, where updates will be given on Austin’s quality-of-life plan. Celebrate the victories and investments, and discover how you can get involved. The meeting will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 14 at Kehrein Center for the Arts, 5628 W. Washington Blvd.
After two years of work involving more than 400 people, the plan was celebrated Saturday at Michele Clark Magnet High School. Now seven task forces each devoted to a key issue area will begin implementing the plan.
Dozens of residents and other stakeholders have been meeting monthly to come up with a detailed action plan to improve the city’s most-populated neighborhood. The process is being led by Austin Coming Together and LISC Chicago.
The issue will be discussed from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 30 at 5049 W. Harrison. The discussion is part of ongoing efforts to write a quality of life plan for the community, led by Austin Coming Together and LISC Chicago.
