Space is still available in many West Side programs offering arts, crafts, sports, field trips and other daily activities.
Eligible students must apply by the June 11 deadline.
The bill aims to give first-time, non-violent offenders a second chance after completing requirements such as community service and restitution through a two-year probation program.
Both projects are being developed by the group Austin Coming Together with help from the city and other local organizations.
Contact After School Matters immediately, as some programs begin Feb. 6.
Some say the right data isn’t being used, leaving the West Side out once again.
Move Me Soul is a collaboration between After School Matters, Pyramid Player’s Productions and The Lupe Fiasco Foundation that has performed several times over the last two years. Today’s event will be held at Austin Town Hall.
And it’s an even bigger challenge when times are tough. Westside Health Authority works with former prisoners, as does Bethel New Life.
