Congressman Danny Davis, along with community partners and the Illinois Department of Corrections, hosted the event last weekend. It’s part of Davis’ larger work on making reentry after incarceration easier for the thousands of Chicagoans who return to the city after getting out of prison.
Mothers are invited to a Mother’s Day extravaganza from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 8 at 4924 W. Chicago Ave. There will be giveaways, COVID-19 vaccines and testing, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
The event – sponsored by Cook County Commissioner Richard Boykin, the Park District of Forest Park and Roman Morrow – will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. May 4th at 7501 W. Harrison St. in Forest Park.
Cook County Commissioner Richard Boykin will host a luncheon May 12, while state Rep. La Shawn Ford will host a brunch May 14.
