State Rep. La Shawn Ford says in the interest of justice, fairness and equity, Frederick Douglass Academy High School can and should be transformed.
Applicants have until 3 p.m. Friday, March 14 to turn in materials that will get them on the April 7 and 8 ballot.
Feb. 26 is the deadline to run for a two-year term. Parents, school teachers and other staff, and residents in the neighborhoods around each CPS school are eligible.

Just as last week’s LSC results are released, CPS announced supplemental elections will be held May 18 at schools where not enough candidates ran to fill the council.
Elections for all CPS elementary schools will be held today from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and the same time tomorrow at all high schools.
