There are two weekly farmers markets in Austin, both on Thursdays. The PCC Austin Farm Stand is held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and the Austin City Market happens from 1 to 6 p.m.
The youth-led fresh market at 423 N. Laramie Ave. recently hosted a fall family festival. They hope to have a permanent structure after raising over $660,000 with the help of former Bears linebacker Sam Acho. Visit the market Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 2 to 6 p.m.

The first Austin Town Hall farmers market of the season will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. June 10. It will continue on Thursdays through Sept. 30.
Stop by Austin Town Hall, 5610 W. Lake St. on Thursdays between 1 and 6 p.m. through the end of October. You can find Black-owned, farm-fresh produce, delicious juices and table-ready meals. Several forms of payment accepted. Eat healthy and support local businesses.
This is the eighth year Austin Farm will be selling low-priced, organically grown fruits and vegetables; it’s operated by PCC Community Wellness Center.
Stop by St. Paul Lutheran School’s gymnasium, 846 N. Menard Ave., from 12 to 6 p.m. Feb. 18. Free sampling from noon to 4 p.m.
Don’t miss the chance to visit on Tuesdays this month the PCC Farmers Market, at 330 N. Lotus, and the Garfield Park Market, at 200 N. Kedzie Ave., this Thursday.
