While the owners of the Sankofa Cultural Arts & Business Center say operating their establishment is sometimes “taxing” on their entire family, they say they have seen its positive impact in Austin.
In an Aug. 9 press release, the YMCA reported it will shut down services at the West Side location, moving members to the McCormick Tribune YMCA.
The Chicago Park District locations have schedules – some changing daily – posted from June 25 to Aug. 5.
The funds will assist residents with purchasing and repairing vacant homes within a portion of the 28th Ward, as well as the 27th Ward.
The Central Austin Neighborhood Association and Third Unitarian Church organized and hosted a free event last weekend.
The Westside Health Authority hosts a monthly meeting to provide resources and counseling to relatives.
