Celebrate Father’s Day with a free concert

Chicago West Community Music Center (CWCMC) invites you to “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” 3 p.m. Sunday, June 21 at Columbus Park Refectory.
The Westside Instructional String and Harp program will perform from 12 to 1 p.m. Dec. 6 at Garfield Park Golden Dome, 100 N. Central Park.
The performance, held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Columbus Park Refectory, will feature dance, woodwinds, percussion, harp and singing.
From 12 to 6 p.m., join others at Bethel Lutheran Church, 130 N. Keeler Ave.
The Chicago West Community Music Center will perform at 11 a.m. June 7 at the Garfield Park Conservatory.
Admission is free, but donations will be accepted for scholarships the Tea Rose Educational Foundation awards.
The free event featured professionals, as well as student performers from the Chicago Park District day camp program.
The three-part event, running from June to August at Columbus, Douglas and Garfield parks, will feature local acts, gospel choirs and artists Musiq Soulchild and Syleena Johnson.
Students from May Community Academy are leaving their musical mark. The school is one of six across the city involved in the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic’s jazz alive program.
