After hearing from residents, the artist-led Public Art Reimagining Tour with You (PARTY) is sharing six proposals under consideration.
“This is unacceptable,” Rev. Ira Acree of Greater St. John Bible Church said of Monday night’s shooting. “We are calling upon all Chicagoans to assist in getting the perpetrators of these crimes off the street.”
At this month’s 15th Police District youth meeting, community groups shared safe spaces and mentoring opportunities for youth.
About 40 youth and their families participated in the second annual “Fish with a First Responder” held at Columbus Park earlier this month. The event was organized by New Concept Benefit Group and the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance.
Officials are seeking feedback on the “We Will Chicago” plan that marks the first time the city has revisited its comprehensive plan since the mid-1960s. Stop by Austin Town Hall Sept. 15 from 1 to 6 p.m. to complete a survey.
West Side residents can enjoy a night of spoken word performances, fashion and food at this free event hosted at a family home in Austin on Sept. 10th.
All are welcome at the free event, which will be held from 12 to 3 p.m. Aug. 20 at Marshall High School Campus Park, 3300 W. Jackson Blvd. There will be food, health screenings, bounce houses, entertainment and more.
Stop by Moore Park, 5085 W. Adams, from 5 to 7 p.m Aug. 2 to spend time with your neighbors and prevent crime. There will be free refreshments, games and giveaways. Wear red, and bring a chair.
