The Chicago Westside Branch of the NAACP will be giving away masks and distributing information about completing the census fro 5 to 7 p.m. April 30 in the parking lot near 5820 W. Chicago Ave.
The free FOIA clinic and know your rights workshop, organized by the Chicago Westside NAACP branch, will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 12 at Sankofa Cultural Center, 5820 W. Chicago Ave. Dinner will be served.
Former federal prosecutor Lori Lightfoot answered questions about a number of issues before a crowd of a few hundred West Side residents on March 28. Her opponent, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, was a no show at the mayoral forum held less than a week before the April 2nd runoff.
Eight of the 14 candidates running for mayor Feb. 26th participated in last week’s forum, which was organized by the Chicago Westside chapter of the NAACP.
