Apply for a free bike from the city

Applications are being accepted from eligible Chicagoans through Aug. 4th. The Chicago Department of Transportation will begin distributing bikes in August to residents participating this year in the Green Corps, Learn to Ride and Open Boulevard events.

Justice, census participation urged at Sunday’s bike ride

Participants were encouraged to complete the 2020 census, which a judge recently extended until the end of October. It can be completed online, by calling a toll-free line or by mailing back the paper questionnaire. There is no citizenship question on the census, and all information is kept confidential.

Ride your bike for peace

The Austin peace ride will take place Sept. 19. Meet at the BUILD Chicago office at 5100 W. Harrison St. at 9 a.m.; the ride begins at 10 a.m. Water and light snacks will be provided. Bring your bike; a limited number of Divvy bikes will be available.

Grab your bike and take a ride for peace

All ages are welcome this Saturday, Sept. 16 at BUILD, 5100 W. Harrison St. Registered riders will receive a free T-shirt and water bottle, while supplies last. There will be music and snacks before the ride, which starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 12 p.m. Loaner bikers will be available for those 16 and younger; there also will be a limited number of DIvvy bikes available for those 18 and up.
