Sign up today to compete in the contest, which will be held at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 11 at 1150 N. Lamon. The competition is open to amateurs and professionals.
The free event will be held at BUILD Chicago, 5100 W. Harrison, on July 19. Gates open at 6:30 p.m.
There are opportunities to volunteer, shop, get free food and more for the next month in Austin.
The free event, organized by the Austin Eats collaborative, will feature food, films and a panel discussion. It will be held Friday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at By the Hand Club for Kids, 415 N. Laramie.
A free screening of the documentary will be held July 27 at Rosie’s Peace in the Valley Garden, 168 N. Laramie.
West Side groups in Austin, including the Austin Garden Collective, Forty Acres and the Austin Community Food Co-Op, are working together to help feed the hungry and support local entrepreneurs.
The screening of “Can You Dig This” will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Kehrein Center for the Arts, 5628 W. Washington Blvd. After the film, there will be a discussion, and there will also be free snacks and a mini-farmers marekt.
