Bike for peace this weekend in Austin

Join the community ride for peace. Meet at Bethel New Life, 4950 S. Thomas, at 9 a.m. Aug. 6. The ride will begin at 10 a.m. All ages are welcome. Water and snacks will be provided.

Dr. Arthur Lockhart’s 34th annual parade and resource fair will kick off at 10 a.m. July 30 at Healing Temple C.O.G.I.C., 4941 W. Chicago Ave. There will be free school supplies, book bags, free lunch, entertainment and more.
Applications are being accepted from eligible Chicagoans through Aug. 4th. The Chicago Department of Transportation will begin distributing bikes in August to residents participating this year in the Green Corps, Learn to Ride and Open Boulevard events.
A free screening of the documentary will be held July 27 at Rosie’s Peace in the Valley Garden, 168 N. Laramie.
Larry Taylor and the Soul Blues Healers will be performing on Wednesdays at Austin Town hall starting July 27. Other performances will be Aug. 3 ,24 and 31, and Sept. 14 and 21.
