Austin residents affected by violence invited to dinner

The one-day lottery registration will be held Sept. 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sign up online at www.cityofchicago.org/roofandporch or call 311. The lottery drawing will take place in late October.
Ald. Taliaferro is hosting a workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Columbus Park Refectory, 5701 W. Jackson Blvd. Representatives from the Cook County Assessor’s office will be on hand to help guide you on how to appeal your taxes.

The Chicago Police Department and Chicago Public Schools are hosting today’s event from 2 to 5 p.m. in the 15th District’s west parking lot, 5701 W. Madison. There will be immunizations, dental exams, food, games, performers and more.
