The free hiring event will be held at Catholic Charities, 5645 W. Corcoran Place, on Oct. 25th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event targets journeyman electricians, plumbers, pipe fitters, carpenters, construction laborers and more. General contractors/business owners will have a session from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
The 15th Police District strategic plan for 2020 will be discussed at the event, which will be held Oct. 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Zoe Life Ministries International, 5155 W. Madison. This is the first of two conversations that will be held.
Ald. Chris Taliaferro will be hosting the event on Monday, Oct. 21 from 3 to 7 p.m. in the 29th Ward office’s community room, 6272 W. North Ave.
The Chicago city clerk will be hosting its mobile city hall at 3 p.m. Oct. 18 at Austin Town Hall. Residents will be able to obtain dog licenses, apply for a CityKey, buy city stickers and purchase residential parking permits, among other services.

Anyone 50 or older is invited to enjoy a traditional German lunch and live entertainment from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 26. MatherLifeWays is sponsoring Wednesday’s event, which is in partnership with Catholic Charities and Catalyst Schools.

The first-place male finisher was Maxwell Crawford, 21, with a time of 19:12, while Lacey Fournier, 39, was the first-place female finisher, with a time of 22:24. Organizers will soon begin planning the sixth annual Austin POWER 5K.
Beth Anne Place will be holding its fall festival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 28. at 1143 N. Lavergne. There will be pumpkin carving, entertainment, arts and crafts, and more.
