Anyone interested in running can join CARA’S Austin Running Crew, which meets every Thursday at 5 p.m. for most of the year. The last run of the season was last week, but the group will begin again in February.
Time is running out to register for this year’s Austin P.O.W.E.R. run/walk that will be held Saturday, Sept. 17. Registration is $35 per person, or $300 for groups of 10. Sign up now!
Applications are being accepted from eligible Chicagoans through Aug. 4th. The Chicago Department of Transportation will begin distributing bikes in August to residents participating this year in the Green Corps, Learn to Ride and Open Boulevard events.
The first Columbus Park event of the ‘Go Run series will be held at 9 a.m. March 5. Participants may choose from either a 1 mile or 3.1 mile course. The series is organized by the Chicago Park District and the Chicago Area Runners Association. Register this week, before the event.
The Austin P.O.W.E.R. 5K will be held Saturday morning, starting at the corner of Chicago and Mayfield avenues. Among those participating in the sixth annual event will be a group of high school students, adult mentors and Cook County Sheriff’s office officers.
Sign up today for next month’s 3.1-mile run/walk in Austin. After a year break because of COVID-19, the annual Austin P.O.W.E.R 5K is back. Registration is $35 per person for the Sept. 25th event.
Registrations are still being accepted for Saturday’s Global 6K for Water walk/run organized by World Vision. The 3.7 mile event, being held virtually for a second year because of the pandemic, raises money to provide clean water around the world.
Free skating sessions for youth and teens will be held Friday and Saturday at 100 N. Central Park Ave. All participants must register to attend.
Chicago Run hosted its first in-person race since the start of the pandemic at Columbus Park last weekend.
