The Rock of Our Salvation Church presents “The King and I” on Sept. 7 and 8 at the Kehrein Center for the Performing Arts, 5628 W. Washington St. Tickets are $20 ahead of time, and $25 at the door.
“Twelfth Night” will be performed 6:30 p.m. Aug. 9 at Columbus Park.
The city of Chicago is looking for performers who can dance, act or read poetry. Tryouts will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. May 25 at La Follette Park, 1333 N. Laramie.
The 37th Ward alderman will hold two more gatherings June 11 and 18 to discuss issues important to residents.
Some participants in After School Matters will earn a stipend for the fall program, which starts Sept. 29.
About Face Youth Theatre will put on “Checking Boxes,” while Collaboraction will perform “Crime Scene: Let Hope Rise 2014.”
A Midsummer Night’s Dream also will be performed July 29 at Riis Park and Aug. 10 at Columbus Park.
