Soul City community market restarts this weekend

This month’s fresh produce market will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 13; from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 14; and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m Dec. 15 at 5051 W. Chicago Ave. There will be a large selection of affordable fresh produce, recipe demonstrations, free sampling and giveaways.
PCC Community Wellness Center begins its annual produce market June 7th. The summer market will be held on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 5425 W. Lake St.
There are many pantries, soup kitchens and mobile produce marts for those in need of food on the West Side.
Four are in Austin and one is in Garfield Park, with each running one day per week through late October.
