Attorneys will be taking calls from the public and offering legal advice from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 18. Calls will be accepted through the Chicago Bar Association’s “call a lawyer” program at (312) 554-2001.
The only way to determine if someone’s name is in the database is to submit a Freedom of Information Act request to the police department – something more than 120 people have already done. Earlier this month, a FOIA workshop was held to help Austin residents learn how to submit a FOIA request.
The Westside Chicago chapter of the NAACP and the Cook County Bar Association are sponsoring the event Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
