Thousands of spots are available this summer through After School Matters. The programs begin July 5 and will be held across the city.
The programs – which begin June 24th – are free and open to Chicago high school students who are at least 14 years old (16 years old for internships). In total, about 13,000 paid apprenticeship and internship opportunities will be available. Participating teen apprentices will be eligible to earn a stipend of up to $420 depending on the program level; interns can earn up to $10.50 per hour.
Bring your resume and come dressed for success to the March 25 event, which will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at Christ the King Jesuit High School, 5088 W. Jackson Blvd.
Cook County Commissioner Richard Boykin is sponsoring the April 9th event, which will offer information about summer jobs, internships and youth programs.
