Find out if you could qualify for up to $60,000 in emergency mortgage assistance by applying to the Illinois Housing Development Authority.
Eligible households can apply for up to $30,000 in free assistance to pay past due mortgage payments, property taxes, property insurance, and delinquent homeowner and/or condo association fees. The deadline to apply to the Illinois Homeowners Assistance Fund is May 31.
The one-day lottery registration will be held Sept. 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sign up online at www.cityofchicago.org/roofandporch or call 311. The lottery drawing will take place in late October.
