Spotlight put on Austin Village

By |

Several residents of Austin Village talked to the Chicago Tribune about why they chose to make their home in Austin Village.

TheĀ area, bordered by Erie Street, Central Avenue, Lake Avenue and Austin Boulevard, is home to some of the West Side’s best-known residents, including U.S. Congressman Danny K. Davis, Ald. Deborah Graham and former Daley press secretary Jackie Heard.

Find out what other residents – such as Joe English, who moved to Race Avenue in 1970; George Manning, who moved to Midway Park in 1974; and David and Carolyn Ioder, who moved to Austin Village 10 years ago – had to say about an area that at times has been mistaken for nearby Oak Park.
