Austin group to hold open house Saturday

A House in Austin, which builds connections and supports families with small children on the West Side, will hold a ribbon-cutting at 1:15 p.m. Sept. 12 at 533 N. Pine Ave.
The Austin Community Action Team will host the event from 1 to 4 p.m. at Bethel New Life, 1140 N. Lamon.
In an Aug. 9 press release, the YMCA reported it will shut down services at the West Side location, moving members to the McCormick Tribune YMCA.
Participants wanting to canvass on Chicago’s West Side are welcome both Sunday and Monday.
