The free event will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. June 3 at By The Hand Club for Kids, 415 N. Laramie Ave. Network with Black professionals, learn about careers, sign up for a gym membership and more.
Three organizations doing work in Austin – A Long Walk Home, Chicago Freedom School, and Communities United-Voices of Youth in Chicago (VOYCE) – will participate in the June 1 event at Columbia College Chicago. The organizations, which are supported by the Bright Promises Foundation, will compete for a $10,000 grant.
State Rep. Camille Lilly is hosting the event at Guerin College Prep High School in River Grove from 12:30 to 6 p.m. June 30th.
The first 100 youth between ages 16 and 21 to arrive today, March 26, between 10:30 and 11 a.m. will be guaranteed summer job registration. There will also be a youth town hall during the free event, which ends at 4 p.m. and will be held at By the Hand Club for Kids at 415 N. Laramie
Ald. Chris Taliaferro is sponsoring the Nov. 19th job fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Columbus Park Refectory.
The event – free for seniors 55 and up – will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 9 at Austin Town Hall, 5610 W. Lake St.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. (Tau Gamma Omega chapter) is putting on the six-hour event, which will include presentations, prizes and health screenings.
The 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 20 event will take place at ICE Lawndale Theaters, 3330 W. Roosevelt Rd.
The event, aimed at uniting the community, was put on by the Central Austin Neighborhood Association and the Third Unitarian Church.
The April 21 event, hosted by Ald. Deborah Graham and the 15th District Chicago Police Department, will begin at 10 a.m. at the corner of Laramie Avenue and Adams Street
