Hundreds of participants are expected to walk, run or otherwise take part in the fourth annual event being held on the eve of National Gun Violence Awareness Day.
Bears great Charles “Peanut” Tillman, elected leaders and violence prevention groups will kick off this year’s #RespectLife campaign March 24.
Cook County Commissioner Richard Boykin, Lesha Hollins of Root 2 Fruit and BUILD will host a meeting March 21 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Austin Town Hall, 5610 W. Lake St.
BUILD will be holding its seventh annual competition 6 to 8 p.m. March 9.
All are invited to participate in the event, moderated by Vera Davis and presented by Cook County Commissioner Richard Boykin and BUILD.
There will be games, music, prizes, food and more starting at 5:30 p.m. at Christ the King Jesuit Prep, 5088 W. Jackson Blvd.
BUILD is hosting the event 10 a.m. Jan. 21 at 5100 W. Harrison St. Register online today.
Community groups and local churches will be holding events for those needing a meal or wanting to play football.
There will be a “light up the night walk,” dinner and other activities from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 20 at BUILD, 5100 W. Harrison St.
